Linux systems admin you will help take our team to the next level. Bring your experience along with your intelligence, flexibility, people skills and a familiarity with a technical environment. You'll need to manage multiple ongoing projects and coordinate with Engineering to help improve all aspects of our products.

Alleycorp www.alleycorp.com is an umbrella of five companies started by the founders of Doubleclick. All five companies have a pedigree of founders with previous internet startup successes and plenty of industry clout. Funding is solid and shoestring budgets are not an issue.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of technology work experience and in-depth knowledge of Linux environments. We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly person who values small company

culture and teamwork. This person should be a self-starter and be forward thinking.

Job Functions:

Report to the Tech team and advise on infrastructure and network needs

Diagnose and repair network and hardware issues

Monitor all systems and provide emergency response to minimize risk, outages, and data loss

Manage replacement parts and data center equipment inventory

Manage system backups and consistency

Be available on-call, evenings, and weekends as required

Management of the data center

Requirments:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

3+ years experience managing Linux in production environments

3+ years experience supporting MySQL or other similar open-source database systems

Strong familiarity with Fedora Core linux in particular

Knowledge of RAID support, both hardware and software.

Strong scripting skills, primarily shell, Ruby and/or Python a plus.

Strong familiarity with communication protocols, such as HTTPS, SMTP, DHCP, LDAP, SNMP

Strong familiarity with production monitoring services: Nagios, Cacti, and the like

• Detail-oriented and able to deliver quality finished products
• Willing/able to travel as needed

Preferred Background
• 2-3 years work experience in at least one of the following areas
- Strategy consulting (preferably with exposure to media or technology clients)
- Investment banking (preferably with exposure to media or technology transactions)
- Venture capital or private equity (preferably with exposure to media or technology transactions)
- Entertainment or media company (preferably in a strategic planning role)
• 1 year experience in mergers & acquisitions
