• Create, implement and oversee highly effective production plans for pilots, presentations and special projects.
• Create and manage production schedules and shoot calendars.
• Partner with production accounting to monitor and actualize project budgets and report costs.
• Interface with various internal departments on production related needs including BALA, Technical Operations, Facilities, MML, Music/Celebrity/On-Air Talent and finance
• Source, hire and oversee project based freelance personnel.
• Solicit competitive bids and negotiate deals with vendors and locations.
• Analyze and anticipate all production related concerns to ensure projects are managed in a cost effective manner.
• Reports into Director of Production Management, Development.
Specific Duties:
• Approve invoices, timecards, petty cash and other project related expenses
• Negotiate and book key technical and production personnel for projects
• Schedule production and post production related needs
• Maintain calendars for all projects
• Provide regular financial updates on all projects
• Attend production meetings and interface between production related departments
• Ensure compliance with MTVN Production Policies and Procedures including petty cash, T&E, vendor payments, payroll, contracts and agreements
• Freelance production management personnel reports into this position
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 6+ years production management experience in TV.
• Strong financial, contractual and negotiating skills.
• Previous management experience.
• Production background and technical awareness.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Computer skills for budgetary purposes.
• Ability to prioritize various projects.
• Strong business and personal ethics.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• College degree preferred

The project at hand is still in the "secret sauce" phase so all the details cannot be revealed. I can say that it is related to the music business and involves creating a toolset for an audience with very specific needs. The app has components of data visualization, dashboard design, content management/publishing, community, trend tracking, social graph "leveraging," data portability(!?!) and last but not least WIDGETS. No, seriously… I know that sounds like a hodgepodge of empty buzzwords from Techcrunch but the audience for the app is niche and focused enough to put some weight behind them.
