Position Description:

The newly created position of Director of Business Development will play a key role in driving the company's rapid growth by managing all aspects of prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business for Affinitive within a broadly defined territory.

He/she will report to the company's Founder and President and needs to be a self-starter who can take on multiple responsibilities and deliver results in a fun, entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. Affinitive's target client base is drawn from Fortune 1000 companies across industry verticals.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for full sales cycle from prospecting, initial contact, setting up meetings, performing product demos, proposal development to pitches
* Responding to inbound leads and RFPs (Although Affinitive does have a good deal of inbound inquiries, a large portion of the Director of Business Development role will be prospecting)
* Closing $100k-$500K+ deals with target prospects, partner agencies and media partners
* Develop, implement and manage marketing and communications plans to drive sales and company growth
* Work closely with the Client Services team to understand/interpret client needs and ensure overall client expectations are met and surpassed
* Some degree of travel will be required for meetings, pitches, and industry conferences/networking (expect to travel 30%-50% of the time)
* Meeting quarterly revenue goals according to sales plans

Qualifications:

* Minimum of 6+ years experience in executive level sales and business development positions selling CRM, relationship marketing, brand marketing, online marketing, loyalty, consulting and/or emerging media solutions to Fortune 1000 companies
* Experience selling to C level & Director level executives
* Self-starter with a proven track record of successful sales growth and strong quota achievement
* Proven expertise managing complex sales cycles
* Developed contact database within CPG, Consumer Electronics, Food & Beverages, Hospitality, Retail
* BA Required, MBA a plus

Ideal Background/Profile:

* Experience selling marketing technology solutions
* Excellent presentation and communications skills
* Web 2.0, social media, and word-of-mouth marketing industry experience
* High level of industry visibility/recognition (i.e., speaking at conferences, writing articles in industry trades, blogging)
* Strong desire to have a hand in significantly growing a business
