10gen is developing a revolutionary new platform for easily building complex, scalable web applications. The 10gen runtime environment is what Marc Andreessen referred to as a "level 3 platform".
Included are all the building blocks one needs to build a complex, high volume web site: runtime environment, programming language, application server, object oriented database, cloud computing management services, and libraries for common functionality (user authentication, email, site search, wiki, etc.)
Such a platform vastly drops the level of expertise required to build a web application, and also the cost.
Responsibilities:
10Gen's Software Developers will work with the Product Development team to create and assemble a large-scale library of open-source JavaScript code for use on the 10Gen platform, and will participate in the entire process of code architecture, existing solution evaluation, library design, and ongoing public code support. Additionally, developers will work closely with the Product Development team to create innovative management and application development tools for 10Gen's customers.
Requirements
We are hiring at all levels for this position, including new graduates, lead and senior engineers.
· Outstanding JavaScript skills, including full application development, AJAX, and browser compatibility
· Solid experience with structural HTML and CSS
· Solid experience creating and architecting general web interactive applications
· Detailed understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP
· Unit testing and thorough QA of all code
· GOF design pattern knowledge
· Great attitude & a sense of humor is a must
· BS or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
